Trézór Bŕidge® — Using Crypto in Trézór™ Suite

Trézór Bŕidge® — Bridge & Manage Crypto in Trézór™ Suite

Trézór Bŕidge® enables secure cross-chain operations, token swaps, and blockchain integrations directly within Trézór™ Suite. This guide explains installation, connecting chains, performing swaps, and best security practices.

What is Trézór Bŕidge®?

Trézór Bŕidge® is a curated set of integrations inside Trézór™ Suite that allow users to interact with multiple blockchains and decentralized services without exposing private keys. It acts as a secure middle layer that signs transactions on your Trezor hardware device while routing requests to trusted bridge providers and on-chain smart contracts.

Note: The bridge does not store private keys — those remain on your Trezor device. Always verify provider names and contract addresses on-chain when prompted.

Supported networks and services

Trézór Bŕidge® supports popular chains and services (availability varies by region and Suite version):

  • Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks (Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon)
  • Bitcoin (on-chain swaps via liquidity providers)
  • Solana (through verified integrations)
  • Popular DEX aggregators and cross-chain bridges (partnered providers only)

Check Trezor Suite for the current list of live integrations.

Install & initial setup

  1. Update Trezor Suite: Make sure you run the latest Trézór™ Suite release. Updates include new bridge providers and security improvements.
  2. Connect your Trezor device: Plug in your Trezor and unlock it with your PIN. The Suite will detect the device and show available features.
  3. Enable bridge features: In Suite settings, enable Bridge integrations or Advanced features if needed. Some integrations require you to accept terms from third-party providers.
  4. Review permissions: For any bridge or DApp connection, review requested permissions (which account, which chain, and what actions are permitted) before approving.

How Trézór Bŕidge® works (high-level)

When you initiate a cross-chain action (e.g., swap ETH for BTC), Trézór Suite communicates with a selected bridge provider. The provider prepares the transaction or cross-chain message, but the private key signature always occurs on your Trezor device. The signed transaction is returned to the provider and broadcast to the relevant chain(s).

Key security steps in the flow:

  • Provider selection: Trézór Suite lists trusted partners that have undergone security reviews.
  • On-device verification: You always verify destination addresses, amounts, and contract actions on the Trezor screen before approving.
  • Non-custodial: The bridge does not custody funds; it only facilitates message passing between chains and providers.

Performing a token swap / cross-chain transfer

  1. Open Suite and select Bridge. Navigate to the Bridge or Swap tab in Trézór Suite.
  2. Choose source & destination: Select the sending account on your Trezor and the target chain/account for the receive address.
  3. Choose provider & route: Suite will display available providers and estimated routes. Compare estimated fees, slippage, and time to finality.
  4. Review the transaction: Carefully review the amounts, fees, and the receiving address. Confirm details in the Suite UI.
  5. Approve on-device: Your Trezor will display the transaction digest; verify the key details and confirm (or reject) the transaction on the device itself.
  6. Track progress: Suite will show the swap/bridge progress. For cross-chain operations, final settlement may take multiple confirmations across different networks.

Always start with a small test amount when trying a new provider or a new chain.

Security considerations & best practices

  • Verify providers: Only use bridge providers listed and vetted in Trézór Suite. Avoid clicking external links that claim to offer better rates.
  • Check contract addresses: When interacting with smart contracts, verify the contract address shown in Suite against trusted sources (Etherscan, project websites).
  • Minimize approvals: Prefer single-use approvals or set spending limits rather than unlimited token approvals where possible.
  • Use a passphrase for privacy: If you use hidden wallets (passphrase), remember that bridging into or out of hidden wallets requires careful management of addresses and recovery.
  • Keep firmware & Suite updated: Security patches and provider lists are updated regularly; keep both current.

Troubleshooting common problems

  • Swap fails or times out: Network congestion or provider liquidity issues can cause failures. Retry with a different provider or increase slippage slightly if acceptable.
  • Provider not available: Regional restrictions or temporary outages may limit available providers. Check Suite notifications or provider status pages.
  • Transaction stuck: For EVM chains, consider rebroadcasting with a higher gas price or use "speed up" features if supported by the provider. Do not broadcast unsigned data — always sign on-device.
  • Address mismatch on device: If the address on the device differs from Suite, do not sign. This could indicate a man-in-the-middle or UI manipulation.

FAQ

Is Trézór Bŕidge® custodial?
No — Trézór Bŕidge® integrations are non-custodial. Private keys remain on your Trezor device at all times.
Can I cancel a bridge swap after signing?
Once a transaction is signed and broadcast, it cannot be reversed. You may be able to replace or speed up transactions on some chains but cancellations are not guaranteed.
How are fees handled?
Fees include on-chain gas (paid to miners/validators) and possible provider fees or spread. Suite will show estimated fees before you approve.
